| Since 1991, Barry has performed well over 500 local BPOs
(Broker Price Opinions), or BOVs, (Brokers Opinion of Value) for several national
and local Mortgage Lenders and/or Investors to help those entities establish the value of
a property that may be in foreclosure, default or ready to go to sale from a trustees
action.
Since 1991, Barry has listed
and sold over 100 of the properties he has performed the BPOs on with a 99% success
ratio on listings sold. Most of the sales were for values at or slightly in excess of the
value established by the BPO. This is a result of the lack of actual interior access to
the property being valued at the time of the ordering of the BPO.
During the heyday of
foreclosures and sale of non-performing assets by the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC)
in the early to mid 1990s, Barry actually created a separate business called, the
"Foreclosure Resource Center" to handle the large volume of requests for
BPOs on a nationwide basis from investors and investment companies interested in
bidding on pools of these non-performing assets at national RTC and FDIC auctions and/or
sales events. The RTC was the governmental entity/agency created to handle the disposition
of the glut of non-performing loans on the books of failing and/or failed Savings and
Loans. Barry had established himself nationally as an expert in BPOs and BOVs
and these national concerns had commissioned Barry and the Foreclosure Resource Center to
coordinate requests of up to 6,000 BPOs per month.
